Can I get paid to an account outside of Australia?

The Amazon Associates Program has simplified payments for international earnings. In the past, the Australian Associates Program could only pay earnings to local Australian bank accounts – now, if you are an Associate located in USA, UK, Germany, Italy, France or Spain, you can be paid earning from the AU Associates Program by bank transfer to most local bank accounts. If you are an Associate in the above six supported countries who earns from the AU Amazon Associate Program, you will benefit from this.


In this article, we explain the benefits of this simplified payment method. We’ll also show you which settings you’ll need to change within your Amazon Associates account in order to receive international revenue in USD, EUR or GBP by bank transfer to your bank account.

What's Changed?


Amazon Associates launched the capability to onboard Associates located in US, UK, DE, IT, FR, and ES to the AU Associates Program. To date, participants in the above Associates Programs – e.g., a participant in the AU Associate Program, with a bank account within the US – have not had the option to receive australian payments by bank transfer.

With a residence or bank account within the six supported countries, you can now receive income payments from the AU Amazon Associate Program by convenient transfer to your bank account in your local currency (US – USD, UK – GBP, DE/FR/ES/IT/UK – EUR).


What Are The Advantages of Simplified Payment?


The benefits are clear: Participants in an Amazon Associates Program in the US, UK, DE, FR, IT, or ES, can now receive international earnings from the AU Associates Program by convenient bank transfer to their bank account in their local currency.


How to Make the Required Changes to Your Amazon Associate's Account


Make the following changes to your settings in your Amazon Associates account to receive international income in the applicable currency, by bank transfer to your bank account.

STEP 1

First, login to your Amazon Associate Central account. At the top right hand corner of the website, drag your mouse over your email address and select ‘Account Settings’

STEP 2

Under the menu item ‘Payment And Tax Information’, select the sub-menu item ‘Change Payment Method’.

Next, place a checkmark next to ‘Pay Me By Direct Deposit’. Several fields will appear.

STEP 4

Click on ‘Bank Location’ and select the country where your bank account is located. Once you select your bank account’s country location, you can enter the account data in BIC format. For international bank data, the account number is stored in the next field, ‘Account Number’, and confirmed again in the following field: ‘Confirm Account Number’. The name of the account holder is entered in the ‘Account Holders Name’ field and the type of account is selected in the ‘Account Type’ field. In the ‘Currency’ field, you can select a valid currency for your bank account. In the field ‘Routing Number/SWIFT Code’, enter the Swift Code of your bank. Last but not least, press ‘Submit’ to save your input.

What advantages does the new form of payment offer me?
AU Amazon Associates members participating in an Amazon Associate Program in the US, UK, DE, FR, IT, or ES, with a bank account in either the US (USD), United Kingdom (GBP and EUR), Eurozone (EUR) – can now receive their Australian income by bank transfer in their local currency to their bank account.


If I have a current outstanding balance can this be paid internationally via this new form of payment?
Yes, once you update your account with your new details any owing amounts will be paid to the account provided.


If I have previously received manual payments internationally will I continue to receive these?
No, any one-off payments to international bank accounts will now cease. You will need to update your account with bank account details per the below instructions.


I created my account with an Australian address as that was the only option. Can I now update this?
Yes, you may now select US, UK, DE, FR, IT or ES addresses in addition to AU. Update your address in Associate Central to reflect your correct address, and enter your local bank account details to be paid.


I am based outside of the countries listed, can I be paid from the AU Associates Program?
No at this stage we only support payments to AU, US, UK, DE, FR, IT or ES. If you do not have a bank account in any of these countries we cannot yet support payments to you. We will inform you if this changes in the future.

How do I receive international payments by transfer to my bank account?
First, click on ‘Account Settings’ after ‘Change Payment Method’, and then ‘Pay Me By Direct Deposit’. Now choose the country where your bank account is located, walk through the step-by-step instructions to complete the set up. See the step-by-step instructions above for more information.

I participate in several Amazon Affiliate Programs. Do I have to provide my payment information for each program individually?

Yes, you need to provide your payment information for every Amazon Associate Program or Associate ID.

Is the international payment by bank transfer to my bank account free of charge?
Amazon will not charge you any fees for international payment by bank transfer to your bank account. The conversion rate will be determined in accordance with Amazon’s operating standards: at present, the forex rate of the day of pay-out will be applied by the banks we work with to convert your earnings from the international program to the local currency. However, your bank may charge a further fee for their services. For more information, please contact your bank directly.

Do the changes affect the current minimum payout?
Payments are only made if your balance meets the minimum threshold, for direct deposit the minimum earnings is AUD 10. The minimum payout will remain the same as the one for domestic direct deposit. There is no change for international payouts.
